What made removal from the bench of Judge Hollowell?

As a result of being declared “unable to perform the duties of his office,” Judge Hollowell was forced to step down from the bench less than a month ago.

The decision states that the court “received reliable, verified information that the Judge of the 2nd Judicial District, Division 2, is unable to perform the duties of this office.”

Without going into detail about the information the court was given, the order states that the chief justice is empowered by the state constitution to “assign temporarily any justice or judge of the Commonwealth, active or retired, to sit in any court other than the Supreme Court when he deems such assignment necessary for the prompt disposition of causes.”
