Cesar Pupy Pedroso Died: What Was His Cause Of Death?

The Cuban musician and pianist, César “Pupy” Pedroso, founder of the Van Van and of the orchestra he currently directed, “Pupy y los que son, son”, died this Sunday, July 17, in the Cuban capital, the media reported. local.

According to the official press, César “Pupy” Pedroso, director of the Pupy y Los que Son Son orchestra, died in Havana, as confirmed by the Cuban Institute of Music. Pupy came from a totally musical family.  The causes of his death are not specified, but in May he was seriously admitted to the cardiovascular hospital in Havana.

He was a pianist, arranger and composer. His father was César «Nene» Pedroso, who was a pianist who played with Chapottín and other ensembles, while his grandfather Julio was director of the Cuba orchestra. He inherited that talent and he left his mark on orchestras as famous in popular dance music as the ones mentioned above.

He was a member of the groups Fascinación, Sensación, Revé and the Conjunto Bolero; In 1969 he founded, with Juan Formell, Los Van Van, an orchestra with which he remained until 2001, the year in which he founded his own group, Pupy y Los que Son, Son.

Many of Van Van’s most notorious hits are his own, such as: “Today marks six weeks”, “The good people”, “That’s good”, “Disco Azúcar”, “The fruit”, and “Neither chocolates nor candies ”, “Temba, Tumba, timba” and “El negro está cocinando”, among other hits.
