About Big Pokey:
American rapper, songwriter, and artist Milton Powell, commonly recognized by his stage names Big Pokey and The Lackey, was born and raised in Houston, Texas.
He was notably to the Houston-based, world-famous hip-hop crew Screwed Up Click. Big Pokey worked with Houston producers DJ Screw and DJ PRIMETIME to release music on several of DJ Screw’s mixtapes starting in the early 1990s. Pokey’s Magic Tricks Box and Pokapolis are comparable.
A pivotal album in chopped and screwed hip hop, DJ Screw’s mixtape “June 27 Freestyle” included Big Pokey. Early in 1999, his debut studio album, Hardest Pit in the Litter, was released.
