JMU student death 2023 – Harrisonburg, Virginia: On 9th November, at around 2:30 am, a sudden tragedy occurred at James Madison University in which a 19-year-old student of JMU University was found dead in his dorm room on campus. The name of the deceased was later identified as Bernard Stapelfeld.

Bernard Stapelfeld was a freshman at James Madison University, hailing from Pennsylvania, where he was pursuing his career in Computer Sciences. According to reports, he moved to the US in 2022 for study and planned to return home after completing his degree. Those who knew him expressed him as a loving personality. Bernard loved to watch Marvel movies and Star Wars and was also active on YouTube, where he often posted videos of playing Shooter Games and The Walking Dead. He was the most kind and intelligent boy, beloved by his friends and family.
