Massachusetts High School is in sorrow after the tragic death of Ava Patete, one of the school’s most cherished students. A young girl lost her life in a train accident.
Both the Whitman Police Department and the Whitman Fire Department reacted to a railway collision Friday night that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
On Tuesday, May 30, at about 8:30 p.m., MBTA Transit Police alerted Whitman Police of an incident involving a southbound train that may have struck a pedestrian crossing the tracks in Whitman.
Whitman’s fire and police departments were summoned to the scene. At the crash scene, it was revealed that the young girl victim had died. Ava Patete was the accident victim, according to the available information.
