A well-known preacher in the Bronx, New York, is mourning the loss of his beloved daughter and grandson, who perished in a fatal vehicle accident on January 1, 2023. Following a deadly vehicle accident in the Bronx, New York, Ashley Hawkins, the daughter of Greater Central Baptist Church pastor Frank Hawkins, and her son Maki, the pastor’s grandson, both passed away.
The specifics of the funeral services will be disclosed later. Everyone who misses them remembers them and expresses sympathy and tributes to them on social media:
“I’m still in disbelief and heartbroken, and I have been thinking of you and Mekhi since I got the news. Please keep my brother Johnny Simmons and Ashley Hawkins families in your prayers. Ashley was one of the sweetest people I’ve known. No matter when we talked or saw one another, she always made sure to make me feel at home and welcome.
She was very loving, funny, and had a whole vibe. She loved her baby boy Mekhi and was Johnny Mack’s biggest supporter. She valued family and friendship. Such a beautiful spirit inside and out. You both will truly be missed.”
“I’ve never been one to question God, but this is something I genuinely don’t understand. Sis, you were one of the sweetest souls. Always happy and smiling! I cherish every moment we spent together. Two weeks ago, we celebrated your bday. Now we are celebrating you and Mekhi’s life. I know your mom welcomed you all with open arms to heaven.
God, I pray that you give Johnny Simmons, Latarsha Simmons and all their family and friends strength through this. I love you all, sis, and I told you that every time we were together. I can hear you saying “my Monica” clearly in my head. R.I.P. Ashley Hawkins and Mekhi Simmons. God truly gained two beautiful angels.”
