Arnold Diaz, a New York consumer watchdog journalist who had also worked for WPIX-TV before his retirement on 29 March 2022, dies at 74 years old.

It has been announced that the TV journalist Arnold Diaz, famous for his ‘Shame on You’ segment, has passed away after battling a neurodegenerative disease called multiple myeloma.
Despite the life-threatening disease, he has remained vigilant in his career, but his health has deteriorated in the last several years, and Tuesday marked the end of his fight with cancer.

Arnold Diaz was a native of New York-born on 4 July 1949 in the Brooklyn Kensington neighbourhood and resided in Port Chester, New York, with his wife and three children.
He spent his childhood travelling and completed his degree at Florida State University. His passion for journalism started at the same university where he enrolled, Phi Beta Kappa. He had followed his dream to become a journalist and earned his master’s degree from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois.
Arnold Diaz career
In the early to mid-1970s, he started his career in journalism in Miami at WPLG-TV. He moved to New York and started working from the mid-1970s to the 1990s for WCBS-TV.
He won 25 regional Emmy awards during his tenure at WCBS. After leaving WCBS, he joined ABC’s 20/20 and was employed as a consumer investigative reporter from 1995 to 2003.
At ABC News, he earned the Consumer Federation of America Media Service Award and the National Press Club Consumer Journalism Award. He again joined WCBS in 2003 and launched the popular segment ‘ Shame on You’ in which his detailed reporting held people’s interest. He continued his ‘Shame on You’ segment, where he fearlessly tackled consumer issues till he moved to the WNYW in 2006.
His mission to expose wrongdoing and give a voice to needy people remained persistent. He had worked to demand answers in his entire 50 years of career. He retired in 2022 after receiving Several Emmy awards and a remarkable career.
