Ahmaad Galloway Death: Obituary, Cause Of Death, Funeral

Ahmaad Galloway, a football player and coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide, has unexpectedly died. He passed away on January 9th, 2023, on a Monday, at age 42. His passing was reported via a Facebook post.

The cause of his death isn’t made public. No information was given about the funeral services. Ahmad is sorely missed by everyone who has paid respect to him and expressed their condolences online.

“Ahmad, rip! Nobody put in more effort than him in the Trojan weight room, field, or locker room! Nothing was more exciting than being able to enter the stadium with your name on a list to watch him play at Bama! Thank you, brother, for that experience!”

Ahmaad played for the University of Alabama for four years. In memory of Mario Reed, a former friend from high school who had horrific spinal cord damage during a game, he wore number 29.

He had a limited role in 1999 as a rookie, playing second fiddle to future NFL tremendous and former Crimson Tide running back Shaun Alexander. He was coached by Mike Dubose that season and won the SEC Championship. Galloway carried the ball seven times for 33 yards.

His most notable performance, though, came against Alabama’s fiercest foe, Auburn University. He gained over 130 yards on the ground to help the Tide defeat the Tigers. That season, Galloway ran the ball 174 times for 881 yards and six touchdowns.

Before starting his senior year of high school in 2002, Ahmaad had high hopes. He would, however, sustain a knee injury that would terminate his season early in a game against Southern Mississippi. Due to this, he missed several final games of his senior year, which the Crimson Tide concluded with a record of 10-3 under previous head coach Dennis Franchione. On 58 carries, he gained 257 yards and scored four touchdowns.
