Early Life of Wassim Slaiby
Wassim Joseph Slaiby, also known as Wassim Slaiby, was born on November 16, 1972, in Ghazir, Lebanon. When Wassim was ten years old, his father passed away. He escaped the Lebanese Civil War conflict and migrated to Canada without his family when he was fifteen. He started living in Montreal before moving to Ottawa in his late teens.
On May 15, 2016, Wassim Slaiby married Miss USA 2010, Rima Fakihin, at the Patriarchal Edifice in Bkerké, Lebanon. She is a Lebanese model and a philanthropist. Their wedding was attended by many celebrities, including The Weeknd, French Montana, Haifa Wehbe, and Wael Kfoury, and was presided over by Maronite Patriarch Bechara Boutros al-Rahi. 2002–2011: CP Music Group
Wassim Slaiby started his career as a musician after meeting a young fellow immigrant rapper, Belly. Belly was a freestyle rapper on Ottawa street in 2002. Wassim began to work as a manager with Belly, with whom he founded Capital Prophets Records. These records would go on to be known as the CP Music Group. Slaiby also hired Amir “Cash” Esmailian, who was also a friend of Belly. Esmailian was the head of street promotion for the label.
Rapper Belly and singer Massari were the first artists signed to the new record label by Wassim Slaiby. 2011–present: XO Records, SALXCO, and Universal Arabic Music
In 2011, Wassim Slaiby started co-managing “The Weekend” with the singer Esmailian and co-founded “XO Records” with the artist and a very professional director named La Mar Taylor. The label “The Weeknd” released his first three mixtapes:

These tapes were produced In-house by Illangelo. In 2012, XO Records was assumed by Universal Music Group as a subordinate label following the Weeknd signing with Republic Records. In 2017, Wassim Slaiby and his friend, French Montana, started to raise funds to build the Suubi Hospital in Uganda with Global Citizen and Mama Hope. In November 2018, there was a deadly wildfire in California, and Wassim urged his followers in an Instagram post to donate as much as possible to the Los Angeles Fire Department and the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund.
