Mike Hagerty cause of death

Actor Mike Hagerty, known for playing the caretaker Mr. Treeger in Friends (1994-2004), died at age 67. He recently starred in the HBO comedy Somewhere Somewhere opposite Bridget Everett. It was the actress who announced the death of her colleague in a post published on Instagram this Friday (6); the cause of death was not revealed.

“It is with great sadness that the family of Michael G. Hagerty announces his death, which took place last Thursday [5] in Los Angeles,” reads the note on Bridget’s page. “Mike, a devoted husband, leaves his wife, Mary Kathryn; the sister, Mary Ann Hagerty; sister-in-law, Kathleen O’Rourke; and his niece, Meg. He will be greatly missed.”

In the series Someone Somewhere, Hagerty played Ed Miller, farmer and father of Sam, the character played by Bridget Everett. In another post on the social network, the actress recalled how she went to work with her colleague.

“I fell in love with Mike the instant I met him,” Bridget revealed. “He was very special, caring, funny… We are devastated by the news of his death. Mike was loved by the entire crew and cast of Somewhere Somewhere.”

Owner of a long career in acting, which began in the 1980s, Mike Hagerty became known and immortalized in pop culture for the role of Mr. Treeger, the caretaker of the building where Monica (Courtney Cox), Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and Chandler (Matthew Perry) lived.

He acted in five episodes of the classic comedy, between the second and eighth seasons. Among the memorable moments of Mr. Treeger are Ross’ (David Schwimmer) attempt to bribe him to fix Monica’s apartment heater and his learning to dance with Joey.

Mr. Treeger didn’t appear that much, but he was a well-known figure (he was Ross’s classmate in yoga and made Rachel cry once). In the last episode, Monica told everyone to leave the apartment keys with him, the last character mentioned by name in Friends.

Mike Hagerty’s curriculum is extensive in the series world, with appearances in The Family, The Wonder Years, Seinfeld, Doctor’s Duty, CSI, Grey’s Anatomy, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, among others.
