Norwegian singer Hank von Hell has died on Friday at 49 years old. The artist, named Hans-Erik Dyvik Husby, was the leader of the punk-rock band Turbonegro and has been developing his solo career for more than a decade.

The cause of the death was not disclosed and the family asked for respect for privacy at this difficult time. In past decades, Hank was hospitalized for his heroin addiction. He leaves behind a 12-year-old daughter.

He had planned to perform eleven concerts in Spain in January 2022 that were to take place in Bilbao, Zaragoza, Pamplona, ​​Barcelona, ​​Valencia, Murcia, Granada, Madrid, Oviedo, Tameiga (Vigo), and Valladolid.

The death of the Norwegian musician has been confirmed at first by family members to the Norwegian newspaper Tvedestrandsposten, information that has been shared by various media in the country. Subsequently, the official social networks of Hank von Hell have published the following message: “We are very sad to announce that Hans-Erik Dyvik Husby, also known worldwide as Hank von Hell, has unfortunately passed away today, November 19, 2021. We beg you I respect the family and close friends in this moment of tragedy ”.

His former band also wanted to dedicate a few words to him on social networks: “With immense sadness, we have received the tragic news of the death of Hans-Erik“ Hertis ”Dyvik Husby. We are grateful for the times, the moments, and the magic that we shared with Hans-Erik in Turbonegro during the years 1993-2009. As a charismatic leader, he equally channeled humor and vulnerability. Hans-Erik was crucial to the appeal of the band. He was a warm, big-hearted human being, a spiritually and intellectually seeking person who loved to have a conversation with anyone. We are proud of what we create together as rock brothers in Turbonegro: the music, the characters, our entire universe.

Hans-Erik Dyvik Husby achieved his greatest notoriety as a member of  Turbonegro  from 1993 to 2009. He also led the band  Doctor Midnight & The Mercy Cult  and recently developed his solo career.
