Brendan Og Duffy captained the Irish Monaghan just before tragically losing his life on his way home
Life can change completely in a very short time. A few hours ago, a semi-final of a national U-20 soccer tournament was played in Ireland, which faced Monaghan and Donegal in the British Isles. Home team captain Brendan Og Duffy tragically lost his life after this game as he drove home after his team’s victory.

Our club is devastated by the news of the untimely death of our senior player and U-20 county captain Brendan Óg Ó Dufaigh. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time. “All club activity has been postponed until further notice.
The Irish club observed a minute of silence and another of applause in memory of their teammate, Duffy. So was the exciting moment.
