Keith Farmer Obituary: What Was Keith Farmer Cause of Death?

His brother David Farmer was in charge of confirming the terrible news of the death of the four-time national champion of the speed tests.

The world of motorcycling is in mourning. The sad news of the death of Keith Farmer, one of the best British riders of recent times and multiple champion in several categories who also had his adventure in the Superbike World Championship, has just been known.

Keith, of Irish origin, has died at the age of 35 in circumstances that have not yet been revealed. His brother David Farmer has been in charge of confirming the news with a brief statement through his social networks. He himself has also been in charge of stating that the death of the British pilot has occurred in a really strange situation.

“I am speechless, our little brother left us at 1:45 am this morning with all of us by his side. Life will never be the same again, he made us all so proud and he will be sorely missed. We love you Meekie.” A confession that has caused deep pain in the universe of motorcycling and throughout British sport since Farmer was nationally known.

The causes of death for this four-time Irish champion are still unknown.

A successful career

The last decade of English motorcycling has been marked by the numerous triumphs achieved by this spectacular rider. In 2011 he was proclaimed champion in the Superstock 600 category despite the fact that he was participating as a rookie that year. Nonetheless, he impressed everyone with an incredible performance.

Just a year later he made the jump to the Superstock 1000 category to once again finish at the top of the table. His new habitat was a wise decision since he adapted perfectly to the new modality. So much so that in 2018 he won the title again. A year earlier he had also won the  British Supersport Championship with TAS Racing, a team from Northern Ireland .

It was precisely TAS Racing who gave him the opportunity to make the leap to the Superbike World Championship. However, he did not have the luck he hoped and dreamed of. Bad luck and a serious accident cut short his career in that fateful year 2019. Farmer broke both legs in a brutal accident at  Knockhill and that caused his career to end abruptly.

After that tragedy, he was never who he was again. After managing to perform at a more or less acceptable level after the relevant stoppages of the pandemic, he decided to leave the professional competition in 2021, not being able to return to the top as he used to do in the first years of his career. Therefore, after turning 34, he decided to step aside.

Despite the confirmation of his death, it is still unknown what caused Keith’s untimely death. The situation, as his brother David denounced, has been most strange. A good part of the motorcycle universe has wanted to fire the Irish champion through their social networks.
