Freeman was a staunch advocate for emerging Black entrepreneurs. To help other Black people advance in their careers, he mentored, invested in, and toiled alongside them. He encouraged numerous underprivileged people and supported the growth of Black entrepreneurs, including the three Tennessee State University students who founded and launched Slim & Husky’s Pizza Beeria chain.
Zycron Inc, a digital corporation, was founded by Freeman, later sold by him in 2017 for more than $20 million.
Freeman supported and contributed to Middle Tennessee State University, a public university, more than $100,000 to start initiatives for first-generation college students, providing free lunch for the ladies and fervently urging them to advance in their careers.
