Jethro Lazenby Caus of death
Jethro Lazenby, son of singer Nick Cave, has died aged 31. The reasons for death are not yet known.
The model was Cave’s second child, the result of a relationship with Australian model Beau Lazenby. The Bad Seeds musician only met his son when he was “seven or eight years old”, Lazenby revealed in a 2009 interview.
Jethro was released from prison two days before he died, after having assaulted his mother, Beau Lazenby, in March of this year, the Daily Mail reports. In an argument, the model kneed Beau in the face and left, without her help, to buy cigarettes in Melbourne, Australia.
During the trial, Jethro’s legal representative revealed that he had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and that it “affected the judgment itself”.
He was released on the pretext of undergoing substance abuse treatment and not having contact with his mother for two years. “It is very, very important that your path to rehabilitation is much more positive and that it is, therefore, less dangerous for the community in general and for the mother in particular,” the magistrate said during the hearing.
However, the model already had a violent history, with a series of violent attacks against his girlfriend in 2018. He was even arrested for physical offenses against his girlfriend.
