Pepita Gomís Died: What Was Her Cause Of Death?

Pepita Gomís, a television presenter who was married to actor Héctor Suárez died this Sunday at 83, as her son, Héctor Suárez Gomís announced on social networks.

The actress was hospitalized last August when community support was requested to donate blood for the transfusions she needed.

“With deep sorrow, I want to share the death of my mother, Pepita Gomís, ” Suárez Gomís wrote on his Twitter account. The post was filled with messages offering condolences to her family.

Personalities such as Regina Blandón, Victor Trujillo, Enrique Bermúdez, and Vanessa Bauche lamented the death of Pepita Gomís and left messages of support in the tweet of the also known as Héctor Suárez Jr., where she left a photo of her mother to fire her.

Josefina Gomís was born on January 29, 1938, and studied a master’s degree in History at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Throughout her career, she was the owner of a kindergarten, which bore her name.

In the 1960s, she hosted Telekinder, the first educational program on Mexican television that served as a space for preschool children who took live classes with Gomís.

The program aired from 1963 to 1968 and Pepita Gomís continued on educational television. She was the host of What do children know, dedicated to elementary school students, and was also in The Return to Mexico in 60 Minutes, where she addressed issues of Mexican geography.

Later, she married the actor and comedian Héctor Suárez, with whom she was married for 36 years and they had two children, Héctor and Julieta. Just in June of last year, Suárez died of cancer at age 81.

So far no more details have been released about the causes of her death.
