Paul Orndorff Died

Paul Orndorff passes away at the age of 71.

Sometimes, there is news that we would not like to communicate such as the case of the death of someone, but recently the death of a WWE Hall of Famer and WWF legend in the 80s has been made official.

Through his son’s Instagram account, the death of Paul Orndorff (fka Mr. Wonderful) has been reported at 71 years of age. This is the statement he has left on Instagram:

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father, Paul Parlette Orndorff Jr. He is better known as “Mr. Paul Orndorff”. Most of you will remember him by his physique. Many will remember its intensity. . But if he could get you to understand and see his heart. He will always be Daddy, Paw Paw and Daddy at home. And as much as many of you hated him as a fighter, he loved you for it. He was an amazing father who showed me more love than I ever deserved. I love you dad.

Paul Orndorff was one of Hulk Hogan’s biggest rivals and starred in the first main event in WrestleMania history alongside Hogan. He was one of the best physically speaking wrestlers in WWF around the 80’s. He was active for several decades and, after 17 years of retirement, he had his last fight in 2017. From TurnHeelWrestling we want to convey our deepest condolences to all his family and friends.

Biography

Paul Parlette Orndorff Jr. (born October 29, 1949) is an American professional wrestler, best known for his appearances in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and the World Wrestling World Championship (WWW). After seven years working around the National Wrestling Alliance, Orndorff became a star in the WWF wrestling boom of the 1980s, appearing with manager Bobby Heenan and champion Hulk Hogan, including on major events of the first WrestleMania and Survivor Series. With an untreated neck injury, he left the WWF for WCW in early 1988, where he won the WCW World Television Championship and the WCW World Tag Team Championship with Paul Roma (as a team named Pretty Wonderful). After the fight, he trained others and survived cancer in 2011.

Personal life

Orndorff’s parents were of German descent. He currently resides in Fayetteville, Georgia. He married his high school sweetheart Ronda Maxwell Orndorff. They have two adult children, Paul Orndorff III and Travis Orndorff, as well as eight grandchildren. Paul has a brother named Terry, with whom he briefly wrestled as a tag team in the early 1980s.Terry had limited success as a tag team wrestler with other partners such as The Junkyard Dog and Kerry Von Erich. In January 2011, Orndorff told the Sirius Open Satellite Radio program that he had recently been diagnosed with cancer. On August 10, he announced that he had disappeared.

In July 2016, Orndorff was named part of a class action lawsuit filed against WWE that alleged that the wrestlers incurred “long-term neurological injury” and that the company “steadfastly failed to care for them” and “fraudulently misrepresented and concealed” the nature and extent of those injuries. The lawsuit was litigated by attorney Konstantine Kyros, who led a number of other lawsuits against WWE. In September 2018, US District Judge Vanessa Lynne Bryant dismissed the case, ruling that some of her claims were frivolous and some had been filed after the statute of limitations expired.
