The announcement of Kyle Anderson’s death was made by The Sportsman Management Company Ltd, a company that represented the athlete’s career.
– Kyle was one of the nicest people you could have met. One of the biggest hearts you’ll ever find with so much love. You made us laugh more than you will ever know. No star will shine more in the sky than yours – said the statement.
The professional dart players association also confirmed the news on Twitter, posting:
– It is very sad to wake up with the news that Kyle Anderson has passed away, our sincere condolences to all your family and friends. He will be sorely missed.
Known as “The Original”, Kyle Anderson was one of eight players to land a nine-dart finish at the PDC World Championships, gaining fame in 2013.
Earlier this year, the Australian withdrew from participating in the PDC Tour Card, opting to stay in Australia, where he returned in March of last year, after the outbreak of the pandemic.
Two weeks ago, Kyle Anderson posted a picture of himself at the hospital with the caption, “It’s getting pretty regular now.”
In addition to diabetes, Anderson had problems last year after contracting Covid-19.
