By signing her contract, Kim Ng became the highest-ranked woman in MLB

The Miami Marlins hired the first woman as general manager in Major League Baseball history.

Kim Ng will take over the administrative reins of the Florida ninth, heading into the 2021 season.

The board has 30 years of experience in the MLB, with a resume within the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and in the offices of the Major Leagues themselves.

During his career, he was part of the administration of the bombers that won three consecutive World Series (1998-2000), where he met Derek Jeter, who today is part of the business group that owns the Marlins.

“We are building a long-term project in South Florida, developing towards the future, collaborating, creating an operation to build an incredibly talented team,” NG communicated.

“This is a challenge that I do not take lightly. When I entered the business world, it seemed very difficult that a woman could one day lead a major league team . But I was stubborn in meeting my goals. “

By signing her contract, Ng became the highest-ranked woman in MLB.
