How Did Jimmy Rave Die? What Was His Cause Of Death?

Jimmy Rave has attracted many fans and won several titles since 1999; the fighter retired in November 2020 when he needed to amputate his arm.

Jimmy Rave, a former wrestling star, died at age 39 amid health problems that have recently worsened. The fighter amputated his legs in June because of antibiotic-resistant bacteria – and retired in 2020 because he had to amputate one of his arms. The cause of death was not revealed.

The information was published by TMZ and Metro this Monday (13). Jimmy Rave passed away on Sunday, according to a statement from his daughter Kailah and her friend Bill Behrens. Known as Jimmy Rave in his wrestling career, the American named James Guffey has attracted many fans and won several titles since 1999 when he made his debut in the ring.

“James Michael Guffey died at age 39. James was best known as the Professional Fighter Jimmy Rave. His career, which began in 1999, has continued for over 2 decades. “Jimmy had been struggling with drug addiction for many years. His struggles resulted in the amputation of his arm, and later both of his legs. James leaves behind his ex-wife, Felicia, daughter, Kailah, son, James II, and parents Jim and Toni Guffey”, says the text posted on the friend’s Twitter.

Fans mourned the idol’s death. “I’ve only met Jimmy once, but I’ve watched his fights, many, many times. I wish I had done more. I’m sorry for your loss,” wrote one Twitter user. “Six days ago he congratulated me on what I was doing. He held out his hand while I was saying nice things about him,” reported another fan. “The world needs more good people and heaven won one”, summed up the admirer.

Jimmy had been suffering from very complicated situations from 2020 until now. Last year, in November, he retired from wrestling after he had to amputate his left arm because of an infection. In June of this year, he amputated both legs because of an antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

At the time, Rave went to Twitter to expose the drama he was experiencing, which began when he struggled to walk last year. “In June, I started having trouble walking and went to my surgeon. He determined that I had MRSA on both legs and that they needed to be amputated immediately,” he reveals. See the posted tweet:

MRSA stands for ‘Multiple-resistant Staphylococcus aureus’, a bacterium that has become resistant to various antibiotics. Despite this, it is extremely common and only in very rare cases bring serious complications, such as Jimmy Rave’s.
