Thomas played for four NFL clubs, but with the Broncos he established himself as an elite wide receiver and announced his retirement last June.
According to information from 9News, a Denver broadcaster, former wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has died at the age of 33. The Washington Post reported that in Roswell, Georgia, police confirmed that the former player was found dead at his home Thursday morning.
“The NFL family mourns the tragic loss of Demaryius Thomas and we express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones,” the National Football League wrote on its official Twitter account.
It was added that his death was the result of a medical condition that Thomas had struggled with since 2019 when he was involved in a road accident.

The Fulton County, Georgia, medical examiner’s office reported that the player died of complications from epilepsy.

At the moment the Broncos, a team with which they have established themselves as one of the most explosive receivers of the past decade, have not commented on the matter, but due to the contribution that Thomas made to the club, it is possible that Denver is preparing a tribute.
Thomas, drafted in the first round of the 2010 Draft, spent his first nine seasons as a professional in Denver and during that span had 665 receptions, 9,055 yards, and 60 touchdowns.
In addition, he was invited to five consecutive Pro Bowls between 2012 and 2016 and won Super Bowl 50. As if that were not enough, in five seasons he accumulated more than 90 receptions and a thousand yards, something previously only achieved by Marvin Harrison, Jerry Rice, and Torry Holt.
After serving in the Broncos, the Georgia Tech graduate tried his luck with the Texans, Patriots, and Jets, with whom he played the 2019 season, his last as a professional. In June 2021, after a year of inactivity, Thomas opted for retirement.
