Petrus graduated in 1997 from UC.

Moreover, Petrus was coached by Bob Huggins for the 1997-98 basketball games. He scored an average of 2.5 points and 2.2 rebounds each game, in total 31 games. While he was on a football scholarship.

However, on the other side while talking about his football career he played four seasons for the Bearcats. He played one season at tight end and the other three at quarterback.

He played for Carolina Rhinos and New York Dragons in Arena Football.

Dan Hoard an American sports commentator expresses his grief in the following words;

“Saddened to see that former UC football/basketball player Brent Petrus passed away. He was a Chuck Machock favorite because they both attended Elyria Catholic HS. Brent has to be the only UC athlete to throw a TD pass, catch a TD pass, and score 10+ points in a Crosstown Shootout.”

Petrus went to Elyria Catholic High School. Furthermore, he was enlisted into the Elyria Sports Hall of Fame.

The only cause of death which was mentioned by Legacy.com is epilepsy.

No reports on his funeral have been received yet. In these tough moments, the family expects to respect their privacy.

It’s deeply saddened to see a young soul leaving this world too soon. Our heart goes out to his family, fans, and loved ones.
