Workers who put out a fire in Santo Tomás Ajusco found the body
The Mexico City Attorney General’s Office confirmed this afternoon the lifeless discovery of Michell Simon, a sports news presenter, and is investigating the case from a gender perspective.
Ulises Lara, the spokesman for the local FGJ, reported that Michell’s body was located by workers from a communal area in the town of Santo Tomás Ajusco when they were mitigating a fire near the vehicular path.
Michel Simon, a name with which she identified himself in the workplace, hosted the Hoy Futbol program on Aym Sports and was also part of the Cachimba Deportiva team.
Michell was also an announcer on a health show on 88.9 news, as a model and actress. She is the mother of a girl.
Lara explained that specialized and multidisciplinary personnel from the General Directorate of Attention to Victims already offer Michel’s family legal, psychological, social, and economic assistance.
“After activating the corresponding protocol after locating the body, the social representation of the Office of the Prosecutor for the Investigation of the Crime of Femicide, attached to the General Coordination of Investigation of Gender Crimes and Attention to Victims, gave intervention to experts in criminology and photography, who carried out the due processing and collection of evidence, as well as the transfer of the body of the deceased, to perform the necropsy of Law, “he assured in a message to the media.
The official added that agents of the Investigative Police (PDI) have carried out various interviews and inspections at the scene, as well as the search for witnesses or clues that could be used for the investigations.
“This Prosecutor’s Office works together with the Ministry of Citizen Security, in different lines of investigation and is in direct contact with the victim’s family and friends to obtain information that can help in the investigations that allow clarifying the victim’s death.”
Finally, the Prosecutor’s Office reiterated its commitment to serving victims with a gender perspective, guaranteeing a new way to investigate crimes, “with special emphasis on justice for women.”
