The Argentine singer Roberto Orlando Braccone, artistically known as “Elio Roca”, died at dawn this Sunday, at 78 years of age, in a health clinic in the province of Chaqueña, in northern Argentina, where he was held for an acute low back pain News released by her daughter, Georgina Braccone, through social networks.

Producer Tomás Figueroa, who in 2010 brought Elio Roca to Puerto Rico with Maria Martha Serra Lima and presented them in a concert “Tribute to Sandro de América” at the Center for Fine Arts in Caguas, regretted his departure.

Elio Roca, in addition to being a singer, was a composer. His songs were internationally recognized. In 1970, he won the First Festival of Punta del Este, in Uruguay, with his song “When love is given.” He also won first prize at the Channel 13 Song TV Festival, in Buenos Aires, with his song “Let’s sow peace and love on the roads.”
