From radio to television

Dora Cadavid was born in Medellín, on November 23, 1973, and her first approach to the artistic world was in La voz de Antioquia, a radio program in that city, as a speaker. From there she moved on to radio soap operas and there she was discovered by the actor and theater (and television) director Fausto Cabrera, who took her to act on stage, although she continued with her passion for radio and even had her own station, Ondas Femeninas.

Dora Cadavid’s first approach to television was making a commercial for the Royal dessert brand. In fact, she was the first woman to appear in a live television commercial, just when it was inaugurated in the country. That same year, in 1954, she appeared in her first telenovela, called Espectros.

In that decade he continued to combine acting with speech and other passions. She not only worked at RCN Radio, but in 1958 she recorded a musical album at Sonolux.

Her recognition, however, was linked to the small screen, where he appeared in novels such as Candó (1969) and Un lugar para amarte (1970). Her talent even took her to Mexico, in the seventies, to study theater, and there she recorded a second album and novels like La hiena (1973).
