A discipline that, with Covid-19 as the protagonist, has suffered excessively in recent years -like the rest of sports-, but with such a situation, the world of sports in the Caliphate territory always joins to say goodbye to one of the Cordoba CF legends.
On Tuesday morning, the Juanin and Diego club reported that Diego Moreno, player of the Califa team and promoter of futsal in the city of Cordoba, has died at the age of 77.
The causes of the accident are still being investigated, but from the same entity that he presided over, they have put out a statement announcing what happened. “Our president, Don Diego Moreno, passed away this morning. A loving person who gave everything for his club. We will always remember you with your smile and your football stories, us and thousands of children who have passed through the school for so many years. Rest in peace, presi. ”
This former player has been and will always be a benchmark within Córdoba, since he was able to wear the blanquiverde in the First Division and in the Second Division -from the 1968-69 season to the 1971-72-. Even so, and in addition to being remembered by the football world thanks to this reason, Diego Moreno also founded the Juanin and Diego school throughout 1985, being a totally revolutionary action in those times and where mythical people have passed through his hand.
Footballers who are currently professionals and have been able to dedicate themselves to this sport. In addition, Moreno also leaves a legacy within another sporting discipline, because he was the great promoter of futsal in this city, directing teams such as Córdoba FS, where he rose to the First Division and even fought for the national crown.

For its part, Córdoba, a World Heritage Site, has also delivered a message through its president, José García Román. “I regret the death of Diego Moreno, rest in peace.
