Arturo Arribas Died: What Was His Cause Of Death?

The interpreter, who appeared in other popular series such as ‘When leaving class’ or ‘Personal reasons’, has died at the age of 56 in the Tetuán neighborhood.

The actor Arturo Arribas has died in the early hours of this Thursday victim of a fire in his own house in the Madrid neighborhood of Tetuán. The interpreter, who appeared in successful series such as ‘Central Hospital’, ‘When leaving class’ and ‘Personal reasons’, was only 56 years old and the National Police is already investigating the causes of the event. As reported by the Efe Agency, a small fire broke out inside his home that caused a large smoke, and when the Samur toilets arrived they found the actor in cardiorespiratory arrest and could not do anything for him.

The first team of firefighters who arrived at the scene went straight to the roof, thinking that the fire was on the roof, but after searching the houses, they detected one where the smoke was more intense. There they found a man lying on the ground, and despite the fact that the fire was small, the smoke was very toxic because it allegedly came from wiring and plastic. The toilets performed resuscitation maneuvers for a few minutes, but finally, they could only confirm his death.

It was precisely in ‘Hospital Central’ that Arribas played one of these professionals, Lucas, a health worker from Samur. But he not only made appearances on television, but also had recognition in theater and worked on almost a dozen film titles, including ‘ Mutant Action’, by Álex de la Iglesia, and ‘Munich’, by Steven Spielberg. In those films, he shared a cast with legends such as Daniel Craig, Eric Bana, Antonio Resines, Karra Elejalde, Fernando Guillén or Santiago Seguro.

On television, he had permanent characters in ‘When leaving class’ at the end of the 90s, playing Julio Díaz for more than 150 episodes, in ‘Hospital Central’ between 2001 and 2012 and in ‘Motivos personales’ playing Pedro Guillén . In addition, he participated more episodically in ‘Elsuper’, ‘Médico de familia’, ‘A las eleven en casa’ and ‘La que se avecina’, playing a plastic surgeon in the latter.

For years we were able to enjoy his acting talent, but Arturo Arribas also had a gift for music. In his Instagram profile, you can admire many videos with his musical performances and he also performed concerts in different Spanish cities. In fact, in his last post on his Instagram, made yesterday, he announced a new date for a performance next April.

The news is a new blow for the followers of ‘Hospital Central’, who just a few months ago had to say goodbye to one of the most beloved actors of the long-running production. Last September, Jordi Rebellón, who played the controversial doctor Vilches, died at the age of 64 due to a stroke.
