A woman on Somerset Avenue hurried outside at around 1:30 pm on Wednesday after hearing at least six gunshots and made an effort to help a man who was bleeding next to a white pickup truck.
On Wednesday, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot on Indianapolis’ near west side. Taylor Miller has been named as the victim. Around 1:30 pm, at least six gunshots were heard. On Somerset Avenue on Wednesday in the late afternoon, a woman ran outdoors and attempted to assist a man who was bleeding next to a white pickup truck.
“I informed him I was on the phone with 911, and he told me his name. The woman stated that he claimed to have been shot in the stomach and had a fractured arm. According to the witness who requested anonymity, the victim Miller, failed to explain why he had been shot. And afterwards, he died in a hospital.
“I don’t know what happened before that. I heard no shouting or fights. I simply heard the shots, the witness said. According to witnesses, a second victim who was shot but survived is believed to be a relative of Miller.
A family is currently grieving and trying to figure out what happened to their loved one. So, it is essential that any nearby witnesses to the occurrence come forward. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal gunfire, according to IMPD Sgt. Genae Cook.
Neighbors claimed they were tired of the violence because this was the third homicide in the area in the previous two weeks. A map of the murders in Indianapolis so far this year shows three deaths on the near west side.
The family may provide more information on funeral services in the future.
