The Delmar High School community is going through a difficult time due to the sudden death of their most dedicated student and athlete, Charter Figgs, who died in a single-car vehicle on Saturday morning, including three more injured students.
The news of his passing at a young age shocked his teammates and fellow students deeply and left them concerned about the cause of the accident.
How did the incident happen?
The incident took place on 7th October 2023, on Saturday morning, near the junction of Route 13 and Lloyd Street in Salisbury. The tragedy was a single-vehicle accident, and the reason behind the fatal crash is under investigation.
According to the reports, three more students got injuries, but the Carter figgs couldn’t make it to life as he succumbed to his injuries.

Who was Carter Figgs?
Carter Figgs possessed an excellent academic record in his life. He was the kindest and most dedicated student of the Delmar high school. Not only was he acknowledged academically, but he also had a passion for football.
He was a member of the Delmar football team. He had a great understanding of sports, and he always conquered the field through his strategies and tactics. Coaches and teammates called him a field leader because of his physical strength and sportsmanship.
He never compromised his studies due to his physical activity. He knew how to balance sports and studies. The most profound ability that made him distinctive was his unwavering commitment and striving for improvement. He had been admitted by the entire community and left their heart in deep mourning.
Delmar High School’s heartfelt message
Upon hearing the news, Delmar High School released the statement on its Facebook page: “On behalf of the entire Delmar School District community, we extend our deepest condolences to the family of one of our dear students and to all those who are suffering due to his heartbreaking loss.”
The high school management also thanked the nearby school community for their support and announced the vigils and supportive program for the students and staff going through the tragedy.
