Singer Miriam Mirah Died: What Was Her Cause Of Death?

Singer Míriam Miràh, the founder of the musical group Tarancón, died at the age of 68 on Tuesday night (22), in São Paulo. The information was confirmed by the family in a post on social media, but the cause of death was not revealed.

“Dear friends and family, it is with immense sadness that we inform you that our mother Míriam Miràh passed away last night. For those who want to pay their last respects, we ask that you wear a mask,” the family said in a statement on Facebook .

Míriam Miràh started her career singing at student festivals. In 1972 she participated in the founding of the group Tarancón, bringing together musicians from various nationalities of Latin America, in the repertoire, the rich music of the continent. The group’s heyday was in 1985, when, led by the powerful voice of Míriam, it reached second place in the “Festival dos Festivais”, held by Rede Globo, defending the beautiful song “Mira Ira”, by Lula Barbosa and Vanderlei de Castro. The song was only defeated in the final by the song “Written in the stars” (Arnaldo Black with Carlos Rennó) defended by the singer Tetê Espíndola.

The wake, scheduled to take place today at 1:00 pm, will be held at the Vila Mariana Cemetery, located in the south of São Paulo, and the burial will take place at 4:00 pm.

In 1985, Tarancón gained greater prominence by participating in the Festival dos Festivals, on Rede Globo, with the song “Mira Ira”, by Lula Barbosa.
