Samantha Mensah, popularly called Sammy, a chemistry student at the University of California, Los Angeles, has regrettably passed away. At 28, she passed away on February 222, 2023.
Samantha “Sammy” Mensah, the president and co-founder of Black In Chem, passed away on Monday, the company revealed in a statement, “It is with extreme grief and heavy hearts to announce the demise of our President, and Co-Founder of BlackinChem, Sammy” Her death’s cause hasn’t been made public.
The family may provide more information on funeral services in the future. Everyone is mourning her death and remembering her, as well as sending condolences to him via social media, including her friends and relatives.
Samantha was pursuing a doctorate in materials chemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. She was a founding member of the group BlackInChem, which works to increase the visibility of Black chemists and recognise their contributions to the discipline.
She received fellowships from the David L. Boren Foundation and the National Science Foundation for her graduate work. After having her baby, Samantha wants to start a medical device firm and enter politics.
Samantha was a forward-thinking and committed leader whose passion serves as a role model for everyone working in the scientific field. She was a bright, hardworking, and energetic young woman. She was adored and cherished by many people and always enjoyed being around.
Mensah’s path to UCLA was a complex one. Her family struggled to make ends meet, so they travelled extensively, spending time in South Florida, New York City, and the Dominican Republic.
She started showing an interest in science when she was in middle school. She was enrolled in after-school classes then, including journalism, acting, and chemistry. Robotics was Mensah’s favourite club since it taught her how to programme devices to perform particular tasks.
