Report: Four women were killed by a BMW driver when he crashed the parked vehicle along the Pacific Coast Highway on Tuesday evening.
How did the incident happen?
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department revealed that the incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on 17 October 2023, Tuesday evening, when a 22-year-old driver lost control of his high-speed BMW before striking the three vehicles parked along the dangerous side of the road known as Dead Man’s Curve by the locals.
The four women were strolling on the Pacific Coast Highway when the driver crashed into them, and all of them lost their lives at the accident spot. According to the reports, the four women were identified as students at Pepperdine University, and the names of four women were identified as Deslyn Williams, Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, and Asha Weir.
Upon knowing the incident, Pepperdine University released a statement on Wednesday telling the students were Pepperdine liberals art institute Seaver College students. They were supposed to go to the Pepperdine University fraternity party held in the area where the crash occurred.
According to Los Angeles’s fire captain, the tragic crash resulted in a shutdown of a large area of Pacific Coast Highway on Wednesday morning. He added that all four students died due to the terrible injuries.
According to the press conference on Wednesday, the sheriff’s Captain Jennifer Seetoo said that a 22-year-old BMW driver, Fraser Michael Bohm, a Malibu resident, was arrested on a charge of vehicular manslaughter. He was released while the police investigated the case and got minor injuries. The investigation is carried out, and the authorities will soon release the case’s outcome.
