Future generations will be significantly impacted by the legacy he leaves behind. His passing was revealed in a social media post by The Moonshine Cafe that remarks:

“As some of you know by now, we lost our fearless leader in the wee hours this morning. My beloved husband, John Marlatt, passed away during an emergency surgery to remove a large aneurism found in his stomach.

Over the past two months, he suffered various ailments, leaving him quite weak and extremely tired.

John was a larger-than-life character with an extremely quick wit that entertained our Moonshine patrons.

Thank you for reaching out to me with your kind words and love. I am overwhelmed with pride at how respected and loved my Johnny was.

He will be missed dearly and daily by everyone who knows him. The Moonshine will never be the same without our Johnny Boy.”

The family will share information about the obituary soon after his loved one has completed his final rites.

“The Moonshine Cafe,” a well-known live music venue in Ontario, Canada, was run by John Marlatt. Since it opened in 2006, the cafe has been providing customers with entertainment.

The success of “The Moonshine Cafe” was greatly influenced by Marlatt, whose larger-than-life persona and incredibly sharp wit kept everyone on their toes. He was well-liked and respected by everyone in the neighborhood.

Over the years, it has helped hundreds of up-and-coming musicians from Oakville get their start. On its stage have also appeared well-known artists like The Kings, The Sheepdogs, JP Cormier, Kevin Briet, and others.

It is hardly unexpected that their business, like many other entertainment venues, dining restaurants, bars, and clubs, has suffered significantly due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Moonshine’s interior seating capacity is 70. Instead of the usual concert every day, live music performances have only been able to occur twice or thrice each week.
