On Saturday, September 16, the world lost a son, brother, boyfriend, friend, coach, and stepfather, Matt Hobbie, a Sarasota resident.
He was the world to his girlfriend, Nicole, and her son, Beau. The impact of this loss cannot be underestimated.
His father got the huge courage to announce his beloved son’s death through a post that remarks:
“Dear friends, I need to inform you of the passing of our son Matt. He went to sleep Friday night and never woke up.”
Cause of death:
The exact cause of Matt’s death is not publicly revealed, but it is suspected that he had heart-related complications that led to his death.

About Matt Hobbie:
Matt Hobbie was born in Sarasota, Florida, and raised in Redondo Beach, California. He got his early education at Sarasota High School and graduated in 1993.
For further studies at the University of Kentucky, he focused on communication degree. He finished his education at the University of South Florida, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Communications in 2001.
He was a well-known baseball instructor and is a prime example of a coach who significantly impacted his career.
Coach Hobbie has produced exceptional baseball players through his dedication, optimism, and work ethic and taught his athletes important life lessons.
Matt was the absolute best son anyone could wish for. He loved life and lived it with passion. Above all, he was the kindest and most considerate human anyone had ever known.
Aside from being an entrepreneur and former Division 1 athlete, Matt devoted countless hours to coaching Beau’s tackle football team for the past three years. He loved making people laugh and was always ready to make you feel better about your day and, most importantly, yourself.
