Lenny Von Dohlen Died: What Was His Cause Of Death?

Actor Lenny von Dohlen, known for playing Harold Smith in the Twin Peaks series and its spinoff, the 1992 film Fire Walks With Me, passed away.

To break the news was his manager Steven Wolfe: von Dohlen died on July 5 at his home in Los Angeles after a long illness. The actor’s sister, Catherine Von Dohlen, also announced her brother’s death with a message: “ On July 5th the world lost a magnificent man. Len was passionate about everything and everyone. He loved being at the helm, whether it was a compelling conversation, an artistic creation, or a trip to new places. He loved the good laugh. His spiritual journey continues ”.

Lenny Von Dohlen is dead. The actor died on July 5 “after a long illness” at his home in Los Angeles, as his manager Steven Wolfe told the US industry magazine “Deadline”.

American actor Lenny Von Dohlen, best known for his role in the cult series Twin Peaks, died Tuesday at the age of 63. As reported by Variety, who obtained confirmation from his agent on Friday, the cause of his disappearance has not been communicated. Lenny Von Dohlen’s sister, Catherine, had announced his death Thursday on Facebook:

“The world lost a wonderful man on July 5th,” she wrote. “My brother Lenny was passionate about everything and everyone. He always led the dance; whether it was engaging conversations, creating art, or traveling to new places. He loved to laugh. His spiritual journey continues.”

Born on December 22, 1958, in Augusta, Georgia, and raised in Goliad, Texas, Von Dohlen made his big-screen debut in the Academy Award-winning  Tender Mercies starring Robert Duvall. Thanks to that small role, he got the lead role in the 1984 film directed by Steve Barron, Electric Dreams, a sci-fi comedy with sentimental overtones in which we witness, for the first time (and long before you by Spike Jonze), a “triangle amoroso ”between a boy, a girl, and a computer.

Throughout the second half of the 1980s, Lenny von Dohlen gets small parts in several telefilms, before landing in the dream world of David Lynch and his Twin Peaks.

In 1997 he also appears in the comedy Mamma, I took measles (third chapter, unattached, of the Home Alone saga ), where he plays the part of one of the thieves who tries to enter the little boy’s house). Among his latest roles, we mention the one in 2017 in the science fiction series The Orville.
