Jessica Florence, Tallahassee Resident, Dies From Breast Cancer

A beloved resident of  Tallahassee, Florida, Jessica Florence, has sadly passed away, leaving behind her friends, family, and colleagues heartbroken and devastated.

Breast cancer is the reason behind her death, as she has been battling this most common carcinoma among women for a very long time.

Jennifer Marie shared a breast cancer awareness post on Facebook that remarks:

“If breast cancer runs in your family, please get a BRCA Gene Test. Your siblings (men and women) have to get their test. Your parents can also take the test to know if they can pass the gene to their children. I was so nervous about getting tested and seeing the results. But after my mom passed from breast cancer, I knew I had to. It didn’t come back high, but I still will have to get a monogram in a few years.

This is the awareness Jessica Florence fought for! Be sure to get your Routine check-up early enough. Your life may depend on it.”

Jessica Florence belonged to Baltimore, Maryland, then moved to Tallahassee, Florida. She studied at Paxon School for Advanced Studies and graduated from Florida A&M University as Architecture. She was employed at Jacobs Solutions Inc.

Jessica taught us so much during her fight; her faith was visible, her strength was tangible, and she taught a generation to listen to your body and advocate for yourself when going to the doctor. No one knows your body like you do.

Tributes:

“I’m just finding out, and I wish this weren’t true. Jess was a fighter and such a beautiful soul. I remember my dad would see pictures of her, and he always thought it was me. I’m going to miss you, Jessica Florence! Your family is in my prayers. We love you always, and thank you for sharing your journey with the world. We needed it!”
