Nutritionist Ilana Kalil, the wife of gynecologist Renato Kalil, was found dead at her home in São Paulo in the early hours of this Monday (14/3).

The information was confirmed by the Secretary of Public Security (SSP). The doctor’s team will not comment on the incident and did not provide further information.

Ilana Kalil was 40 years old and had two daughters, both the result of a relationship with the doctor.

In December last year, Renato Kalil was accused of obstetric violence by influencer Shantal Verdelho. Later, other patients made similar complaints. Kalil denied.

At the time, Ilana even made publications on social networks defending her husband.

Ilana died from a gunshot wound to the head. The case is being investigated as a suicide, according to the doctor’s press office.

In the report of “Fantástico”, another woman accused the doctor of sexual harassment in 1991. Other people also denounced the doctor. A former employee of the gynecologist told the program by phone that she was abused inside his home.

Kalil is the brother of cardiologist Roberto Kalil Filho, known for serving famous people, such as former presidents Lula, Dilma Rousseff, and Michel Temer. The gynecologist also has famous patients in his curriculum, such as journalist Andréia Sadi, presenter Luciana Gimenez and former players Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos, as published on the official website of Kalil Clínica Ginecológica e Obstétrica, of which he is the clinical director.

Renato Kalil graduated from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo and worked at the Albert Einstein, Sírio-Libanês and São Luiz hospitals, all in the city of São Paulo.

In addition to the accusations of obstetric violence, two women also allege that they were sexually assaulted by the doctor: Luciene, a nanny at Kalil’s home in 2013, and a former patient who claims she was abused at age 17 during a consultation.
