A sad incident occurred on Monday, October 31, 2022, and Lucia Colacci, a respected teacher who was 51 years old, passed away as a result. The entire school community, including instructors and students, is inconsolable in its grief over losing its mentor and teacher.

Lucia Colacci died as a result of an auto crash. In the vicinity of Downieville, Ontario, on October 31, Kawartha Lakes OPP officers responded to a single-vehicle rollover on Pigeon Lake Road. Sadly, 51-year-old Lucia Colacci, the car’s driver, did not survive her injuries after being taken to the hospital. From Heights Road to Sturgeon Road, Pigeon Lake Road was blocked for hours while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Collision Reconstructionists conducted their investigation.

She was a beloved community member, and her passing will sadden many. Lucia was an excellent person who will always miss for her sparkling character and contagious grin.

Colacci teaches fifth and sixth graders. At St. John Paul II Catholic Primary School, lessons are taught. The school board’s emergency response team was sent to the building on Monday morning (November 1) to support the staff and kids in the wake of her passing. Additionally, more social workers were brought in for the day and always assisted students who required it.

Mateo, Marco, and Natalia were three of Lucia’s gorgeous children. She was the devoted wife of Jeff Kitney. She was a remarkable woman who had an impact on everyone she encountered. Her death has saddened her family, who are now fighting to adjust to their new situation.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist with funeral costs and provide assistance to her family during this difficult time. We would be grateful for any donation.
