Rap Legend Grand Daddy, a producer, and media host died suddenly.

The rapper was 54 years old at the time of his death. The reports are yet to be revealed. AllHipHop released the news of his death.

DJ Chuck Chillout, a rapper’s friend, announced the news on his Facebook page.

DJ Chunk was last seen with his late friend Grand Daddy in late November.

Grand Daddy I.U. was an MC who rose to prominence in the late 1980s as one of the leading artists on the legendary label Cold Chillin’ Records. After receiving Grand Daddy I.U.’s demo tape from his peer’s brother, the late Biz Markie played an essential role in his signing.

Smooth Assassin, I.U.’s debut album, produced two hit singles. “Something New” reached No. 11 on the charts, while “Sugar Free” reached No. 9.

In the 1990s, Grand Daddy I.U. continued to make his mark in Hip-Hop as a rapper and producer. He also did a great deal of ghostwriting. In 1994, he released Lead Pipe, his sophomore album.

He worked with Das EFX, Heltah Skeltah, KRS-One, Ice-T, and other artists. He would also frequently appear at AllHipHop events. He most recently worked as a media personality, conducting widely promoted interviews on Facebook.

People are concerned over his sudden demise; they ask his family to release the official cause of death. But, no one from the family or any close friend has come up or spoken anything in the media. So the cause of death remains unknown.

The funeral details of the rapper are also yet to be released.
