Before her death, Mrs. Gloudon was in the hospital; she closed her eyes forever, days after her husband Ancile Gloudon died.

Barbara Gloudon was born in 1935 in Malvern, Saint Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica, to Parents Doris (née Harvey) and Vivian M. Goodison. His father was a chauffeur and mechanic. She belongs to the Afro-Jamaican ethnicity.
She was an Afro-Jamaican journalist. Moreover, she was also an author, playwriter, and theatre chair. Furthermore, she was honored with two Seprod Awards for journalism during her career.
In 1969, she started her career as a scriptwriter and began working for Jamaica’s Little Theatre Movement. She was the author of Jamaica’s Little Theatre Movement for decades. Moreover, she also tried her luck by writing in radio drama.
Barbara Gloudon hosted a radio talk show for more than 30 years; she served most of her life in her profession. Furthermore, she was also the chair of the LTM. She was followed by the order of Jamaica in 1992. Moreover, she was also associated with the Insititute of Jamaica.
