Last Friday, April 2, businessman Israel Kopel passed away, who was the founder and president of the Pitusa stores and the National Lumber & Hardware hardware stores.

The information was confirmed to Metro by personnel from the National and Pitusa headquarters.

According to “Telenoticias”, the management of said stores assured that: “Their vision, example, and humility form the legacy that we will always maintain as a company and family.”

They added that: “The family asks for a private space to cope with their pain, especially due to the coronavirus situation. May our dear Israel rest in peace.”

They did not specify the cause of Kopel’s death.
