Dr. Michael S. Heiser Death: Obituary, Cause Of Death, Funeral

After a long battle with pancreatic carcinoma, Dr. Michael S. Heiser, an American Old Testament scholar and Christian author with degrees in ancient history, Semitic languages, and the Hebrew Bible from the Universities of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin-Madison, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023.

In Pennsylvania’s Lebanon, Heiser was raised. His degrees include an MA in ancient history from the University of Pennsylvania, a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Semitic languages from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MA in ancient history from the University of Pennsylvania.

Since 2010, he has written more than ten books. His expertise and efforts have been on the nature of the spiritual realm in the Bible and spiritual themes more generally. In addition to teaching at Liberty University and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, he served as executive director of the school of ministry at Celebration Church in Jacksonville, Florida.

He hosted The Naked Bible podcast and the ministry Miqlat, which disseminated his scholarly work. Also, he has participated in media projects related to his field of interest and in reaction to well-liked talks on spiritual topics.
