A jet reportedly crashed into Lake Winnebago on Saturday, according to local police. A collision between two aircraft on Saturday afternoon resulted in two fatalities and two injuries.
After being brought to the hospital, the injured people’s conditions are stable, according to EAA. One of the person killed in this tragic collision was the well-known aviator Devyn Reiley of New Braunfels, Texas.

At 12:24 pm, a gyrocopter and a helicopter collided near the southern end of the Wittman Regional Airport’s EAA AirVenture flight line.
The gyrocopter was an ELA Eclipse 10, while the helicopter was a Rotorway 162F. Rotorway produced both the helicopter and the gyrocopter.
They were not associated in any way with the air show since they belonged to the participants in the event. According to the Oshkosh Fire Department, both aircraft are thought to have crashed into the ground, with the gyrocopter landing on top of a parked aircraft.
The incident caused a two-hour delay in all aircraft operations at the airport, but it didn’t prevent the afternoon air show from beginning just after 2:30 pm.
Several other emergency vehicles responded to the scene, according to Oshkosh Fire.
Dick Knapinski, the communications director for the EAA AirVenture, said that the EAA, the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, and the Oshkosh Fire Department deployed people to the location as soon as it was reported.
