Captain Hosa Death

Billionaire politician and business magnate Hosa Wells Okunbo has died.

He reportedly died Sunday in a London hospital, at the age of 63, after a long battle with cancer.

Popularly known as Captain Hosa, the deceased is the father of Ivie, wife of the designated Olu de Warri, Prince Tsola Emiko.

The news of his death was released by THE WILL, based in the United States.

Citing an unidentified source, THE WILL said: “Hosa, whose health had improved remarkably after treatments at hospitals in London and Germany, planned to return to Nigeria next week to attend the coronation of Warri’s new Olu, Tsola Emiko, who is married to her daughter, Ivie.

“He had his new house in Lagos decorated and even bought a new Rolls Royce for the new king.”

“Hosa’s health took a turn for the worse a few days ago. He had close relatives with him in London when he died, our sources said. ”

It should be remembered that the philanthropist had battles with the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), for the alleged illegal collection of the shippers by his company.

He also had an ongoing battle with Governor Godwin Obaseki, for re-election last year, as he promised to stop him at all costs, but failed to do so.

In mid-January this year, Captain Hosa, who was the president of Ocean Marine Solutions Limited, was rumoured to have died, but his family quashed the rumours.

“Immediately after the Edo state gubernatorial election on September 19, 2020, [Captain Hosa] travelled to the UK, for his routine medical checkup,” family sources had said at the time.
