On Sunday, comedian and native of Birmingham Rickey Smiley posted on Instagram that his son Brandon Smiley had passed away.
Smiley stated in a video posted to the social media site, “I have horrible news this morning. “I only ask that everyone pray for my family and me. This morning, Brandon Smiley, my son, passed away. I wouldn’t say I like having to say this. Before you hear it on the streets, I want to give it to you.
Al B. Sure!, a musician, sent Rickey a message saying, “Sorry to hear this news Brother Rickey,” among other sympathies in response to his post. Everyone is missing him, remembering him, and posting condolences and memorials to him on social media.
His actual reason for death is kept a secret. According to some accounts, his death has been attributed to accident or heart problems, although the precise reason for his passing is still unknown. Storm, his 3-year-old daughter, his mother Brenda, his brother Malik, 21, and his sisters D’Essence, 25, Taylor, 22, and Aaryn, 21, are the ones he leaves behind.
