Nick Goepper grew up in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, but was born in Fort Wayne. He skied at Perfect North Slopes in Lawrenceburg, an elevation of 800 feet and 100 acres of terrain.

He has a cat, two younger sisters, and one younger brother. Nick Goepper began skiing at the age of five, began competing at the age of eleven, and landed his first double backflip at the age of thirteen.

In 2009, Goepper relocated to Sandy, Oregon, where he attended Windells Academy (now Wy’East Mountain Academy) on a full-ride scholarship under Head Coach Mike Hanley.

He went to Westminster College as well. Goepper won a gold medal at the FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup in Cardrona, New Zealand, in 2013-14 and qualified for the 2014 Olympics at the 2013 Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Colorado. He finished first despite skiing with a broken hand and no poles.
