Why is it a crime to publish a Gabriel Soto intimate video?

Gabriel Soto is immersed in a new controversy after leaking an intimate video in which he appears masturbating in a hotel room. The audiovisual material that shows the actor in a compromising situation quickly went viral on digital platforms.

What users on social networks do not know is that spreading the intimate video of Soto is a crime in Mexico, this in accordance with the Olimpia Law which highlights that “sharing images of a person against their will, as well as harassment, harassment and dissemination of sexual content ”is something punishable by law.

According to Infobae, the crime of violation of sexual intimacy is punishable by up to six years in prison and a fine of 500 to 1000 Units of Measurement and Update.

The Olimpia Law was approved in 2019 in Mexican territory and sanctions any person who records or disseminates sexual content without the prior authorization of the individuals involved in the audiovisual material.

The penalties of the Olympia Law increase when the material was disseminated by a person who had a sentimental relationship with the victim or when the affected person attempts against his own life as a result of the disclosure of the images or videos without his prior authorization, Infobae reported.

Yucatán, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Nuevo León, Querétaro, Baja California Sur, Aguascalientes, State of Mexico, Guerrero, Coahuila, Chiapas, Zacatecas, Veracruz, Guanajuato and Tlaxcala are some of the locations in Mexico where the Olympian Law to punish any person who may violate the sexual intimacy of any individual.

 

Through his official social networks, Gabriel Soto confirmed that he is the person who appears in the images of the intimate video and pointed out that he feels vulnerable to what he is experiencing after the leak of the audiovisual material that dates back a few years.

“I’m not going to talk much about the subject, all I want to tell you is that I feel very vulnerable because of the way my privacy was violated and to make it clear that this happened many years ago,” said the soap opera star in the first fragment of a post in the stories of your account on Instagram

Soto asked for the collaboration of the media to handle everything with the greatest possible respect: “I take full responsibility for this issue and I want to ask my friends in the media for their full support to treat this with the greatest care to guarantee the well-being and integrity of my daughters, and of my partner ”.
