Producer Juan Abreu, Known As Xtassy, ​​Dies At 37

The urban genre is in mourning after the sensitive death of renowned Dominican producer Juan Abreu, better known as Xtassy. The news flooded social networks with several of his friends and colleagues confirming his death on Thursday night.

“Destroyed is not even the slightest expression of what I feel right now, to think that we don’t have you with us, I don’t assimilate it or write it down,” said producer and singer El Gran Alcover (Milton Restituyo), with whom Abreu collaborated on the production company A&X (Alcover and Xtassy) on her Instagram account. “My cute little brother, I love you. We became men, fathers, dreamers, professionals together, you inspired me every day we shared. You are a legend and legends never die…! We have lost a great human being.”

At the moment the cause of his death is unknown, but on social networks, it is speculated that it could be suicide.

Spanish singer Juan Magán described his departure as an “injustice”, according to El Nuevo Diario of the Dominican Republic.

“It took me by surprise and I’m still in shock,” the interpreter wrote on his social networks. “If there is something positive, it is to remember you, honor you, pay tribute, and thank you for the contribution you made to the world with your existence as a good human being and tremendous professional. I am very sorry for your departure and I wish your family strength to move forward”.

For his part, the singer and composer Engel Montaz said that his colleague’s death was totally unexpected and that only a day before he had shared with him through a live broadcast.

Natti Natasha paid tribute to the producer by sharing an image together in their Instagram stories.

“Rest in peace,” he wrote next to the memory photograph. “Strength for your loved ones.”

Abreu was responsible for putting the perfect touch on the world-renowned song by Don Omar entitled Danza Kuduro. Additionally, he worked on hits for Pitbull, Romeo, and Henry Santos, among others.
