The municipal president of Villa de Tezontepec, Patricia Marcela González Valencia, died this Thursday afternoon due to covid-19.

González Valencia entered the Covid-19 Immediate Response Hospital in Pachuca at the end of January after reporting that she had tested positive for the virus.

Days later, it was reported that her state of health was stable but delicate and her improvement was expected in the following days.

However, on the afternoon of February 18, the death of the public servant from Hidalgo was reported, who had barely reached the post of municipal president on December 15, 2020.

Patricia González was originally from the municipality of Villa de Tezontepec where she began her political career. She was director of the DIF Hidalgo System from September 2016 to August 2020 when she left office to be a PRI candidate for mayor.

She was also a federal delegate for the Ministry of Social Development in Enrique Peña Nieto’s administration and an alternate federal deputy.
