Guanajuato, Gto.- Ernesto Herrera Godínez , president, artistic director and co-founder of the Guanajuato International Film Festival ( GIFF ) lost the battle against covid-19 .
Almost a month after his wife Sara Hoch made it known through a devastating message on her social networks that her father, mother, husband, and she had tested positive for covid-19, Ernesto Herrera did not resist and the Sars virus -Cov-2 has taken his life.

More than 20 years ago , in 1998 to be exact, Sarah Hoch and Ernesto Herrera founded the Guanajuato International Film Festival where Mexican and international film productions are exhibited in the cities of San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato capital .
